General Contractor Los Angeles was founded as a colab between Philly native Donny Zanger, a serial entrepreneur and successful contractor from the East Coast, and Michael Murphy, an Angelino veteran contractor with decades of experience in the general contracting space in Southern California. Donny and Michael met through mutual friends in Malibu when Donny was splitting his time between LA and NYC, and right away they knew that the synergies produced by both their skill sets had the potential to make something unique. The idea behind GCLA was simple – be the first and only place in SoCal that businesses or homeowners alike need to call to turn their dream renovation projects into a reality. Before teaming up with Michael to found GCLA, Donny spent more than fifteen years in the general contracting space on the East Coast as well as in the Midwest. In addition to his booming contracting businesses, Donny is also the founder of a handful of hitech companies, some of which are still independently operating and some of which were sold to investors.
